YMCA YOUTH SPORTS
At the YMCA of Greater Omaha, we know there is much more to a game than the final score. A child’s involvement in youth sports gives them the chance to learn about teamwork, achievement and friendship all while having a great time!
We focus on keeping kids active while they learn and have fun as a team.
Important COVID Update for Youth Basketball:
No spectators will be allowed to attend YMCA basketball games or practices held at any public schools located in Nebraska. We currently staff and run basketball at 16 different public schools in Nebraska, and with the safety and continued in-person learning of students in mind, we THANK YOU in advance for adhering to these safety mandates stemming from new Directed Health Measures in place. Parents may walk their children to the gymnasium door. One coach and 1 assistant coach will be allowed with each team. All staff, officials and coaches will wear masks at all times. Players will wear masks upon entry and exit, and while seated on the bench.
Effective immediately, a maximum of 2 spectators per player will be allowed to attend basketball games and practices taking place at YMCA branch locations, public schools located in Iowa, and area churches where we conduct YMCA Youth Sports. Spectators will be required to wear a mask at all times, and proper social distancing of 6 feet per group will be enforced. Please recognize this will lead to slight changes in seating configurations. All spectators must enter the gymnasium WITH their child. Failure to adhere to these guidelines could result in an immediate stoppage of the game, and could jeopardize future games, so we thank you again for respecting these mandates!
The YMCA Spring Sports season will begin March 27, 2021, with practices beginning the week of March 15. Spring sports include Soccer, Flag Football and Volleyball.
- Early Bird Registration (Save $10): January 18-February 1
- Regular Registration: February 2-22
*All sports will wear the gray & black OrthoNebraska jerseys released in 2020. If you need jerseys, the cost will be an extra $10 at registration. Click here for the jersey sizing guide.
