Our camps offer kids aged 5-12 years** a fun, safe and engaging environment where they will find friends and a sense of belonging & accomplishment. With a focus on closing the summer achievement gap, parents can rest easy knowing your child is learning every day, all while having a great time.
►Camps will run weekly from May 26 - August 14, 2026. Campers can attend for one week up to all summer - it's your choice!
►Camp hours are 7:00 am-5:30 pm (drop off as early as 7:00 am; camp activities typically begin at 9:00 am). At the Mills County YMCA, you can drop off as early as 6:30 am and pick up as late as 6:00 pm.
**Must have completed Kindergarten. Please note that if you are signing up a 5 year old, grade level verification may be required.
How to register for camp (Two options):
1. Register in person at a Welcome Center. Bring a photo and immunization record.

If you qualify for state childcare subsidy and would like to apply it to your child’s summer day camp enrollment, please contact your YMCA location to process your registration.
Registration for 2026 will open Monday, February 2, 2026 at 5:00 am for Y members and on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 5:00 am for non members. See below for a list of FAQs and answers.

After you register online, please bring the following into your YMCA camp location.
- Immunization record
- Photo of your camper
One-time non-refundable Registration Fee: $30 per child
Non-refundable deposit: $20/week per child (you can register for your choice of weeks or the entire summer)
- Member: $180/week ($15/sibling discount per week for each additional child)
- Non member: $205/week ($15/sibling discount per week for each additional child)
- Registration will close 1 week prior to that session's start date.
All changes/cancellations to registered weeks must be completed, through the camp director, by May 15. Starting May 16, all weeks registered will be due in full, and no refunds will be issued.
The YMCA’s Summer Day Camp will give your child a fun, safe summer with exciting and educational themes to explore! In-house guests, crafts, games, and swimming will keep your child actively learning.
The program includes daily components of: Indoor play, outdoor play, rest/quiet periods if age appropriate, group play, reading/book exploration, language and social development by talking and interacting with children and modeling appropriate language and behavior.
Special Branch Specific Activities:
- Swimming: days and times are branch specific.
- Walking field trips: locations are branch specific.

Yes.
We will offer swim lessons to children enrolled in summer day camp. Staff will pick them up from camp, walk them to the pool and bring them back. Registration for swim lessons will open on April 27.
Please send your camper with the following:
- Reusable water bottle
- 2 snacks (one for the morning & one for the afternoon)
- Lunch (something from all 5 components). Please make sure to include a cold pack, as a refrigerator will not be available.
- Outside toys, arts/crafts, games or trading cards, sports equipment.
- No technology of any kind. (Cell phones, smart watches, iPads, etc.) No exceptions. Technology will be stored in the director’s office for the day and can be picked up by an adult at check out.
The YMCA is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.
No, please make sure to include a cold pack if needed for your child's lunch.
Camp hours are from 7:00 am-5:30 pm*.
Structured camp activities will run from 9:00 am-4:00 pm.
- 7:00-9:00 am is considered before care.
- 4:00-5:30 pm is considered after care.
During this time, campers will have structured, supervised activities to choose from. You can drop your camper off anytime during the 7:00 am-5:30 pm time frame and is included in the weekly rate.
*The Mills County YMCA camp runs 6:30 am-6:00 pm.
During the week, campers will have a variety of indoor/outdoor activities which include arts and crafts, gym games, field games, a minimum of 2 swimming days, playground time, and outside speakers. Schedules will be sent out weekly to participants.
Yes, we ask each camper to donate 2 cans of spray sunscreen SPF 50 or above their first week of camp.
We only accept spray sunscreen as our counselors are not allowed to apply lotion sunscreen. Sunscreen is shared throughout the camp unless the parent has requested not to due to allergies. Any special accommodation such as allergies need to go through the branch camp director for approval.
We will have a parent meeting on Thursday, May 21 from 5:30-6:30 pm.
This just gives parents the opportunity to come to the meeting and go over camp expectations and meet the counselors. All information will be sent to all participants regardless of whether they attend the meeting or not. The meeting may not take the full hour, but extra time is scheduled for questions.
Cancellations can be made at any time through May 15 without owing any more fees.
The $20 deposit for each week and the $30 registration fee is nonrefundable.
You are able to transfer weeks without losing your $20 deposit, if that week has spots available.
Any cancelations made after May 15 will NOT receive a refund and all fees will be due in full on due dates whether the child attends or not.
Parents/guardians MUST be added as authorized pickups. We will not release any children unless listed.
You can also add/remove names at any time by logging into your online account or speaking with the director.
All authorized pickups and emergency contacts must be 19 or older.
Please contact the Director for approval.
EpiPens and Inhalers will need an action plan from the child’s doctor. If a camper takes medication, you will be required to fill out a medication form before each month.
