Junior Counselor Training
Responsibilities as a Junior Counselor (JC) include leading games, activities, and songs with campers, aiding staff, and helping with the general maintenance of camp.
JC training includes 4 overnights (over 2 weekends). You will receive training in Camp Pokamoke’s activities and facilities, great high energy activities, guest speakers, a field trip, and an unforgettable experience. After completing training, JCs are able to volunteer during regular camp sessions to assist adult counselors. JCs are requested to volunteer for at least three weeks during the summer.

JC training is designed to help participants:
- develop team-building skills and new friendships
- mature into a positive role model and teammate
- become knowledgeable and master several crafts and talents
- present leadership and teaching experience in a positive environment
- encourage personal achievement and self-esteem
- build positive relationships with peers, counselors, and campers
First year Jr. Counselors will continue training June 1-4 & 7-11 during the regular camp season.
You do not need to have previously participated at Camp Pokamoke to apply.
