YMCA Aquatics Programs

For more than 100 years, the YMCA has been teaching people to swim. Through YMCA swim lessons, children are given the opportunity to enjoy water in a safe and fun environment. With drowning the second leading cause of injury related deaths among children ages 1-14, teaching children water safety and proper techniques is becoming increasingly important.

Also becoming increasingly important is the need for regular exercise. Did you know that aquatic exercise is extremely popular because of the natural resistance that water provides? Aquatic exercise is heralded for its benefi ts to people with arthritis and other medical conditions.

Whether it’s learning to swim or as a form of exercise, the YMCA has lots to offer in the way of aquatics programs. So come on in and jump into one of our many pools to take an exercise class, swim with your family, join a team or other activities. We have lots of programs for people of all ages.
